Neonicotinoids’ targeted application and reduced environmental impact make them a vital part of modern IPM.
AgInfomatics, an independent agricultural consulting firm, recently completed a comprehensive study to assess the socio-economic benefits of neonicotinoid insecticides in North America. In the multiyear process, the researchers conducted more than 1,700 interviews, evaluated more than 1,500 university field trials and reviewed in-depth pesticide use information.
Neonicotinoid insecticides, with their more targeted application and smaller environmental footprint, have become a vital part of today's Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs in agriculture, turf and ornamentals. The AgInfomatics study revealed the effectiveness of these neonicotinoids within IPM and the significant implications to these industries if these products were no longer available.
